Blog TOUR + ARC REVIEW: Miss Match by Laurelin McGee

descriptionWelcome to the sexy, crazy, wildly unpredictable world of modern matchmaking, where fixing up strangers is part of the job—but falling in love is an occupational hazard…

He's The Perfect Catch.
Blake Donovan is tall, handsome, rich, and successful—so why would a guy like him need a matchmaker? Andrea Dawson has no idea, but a job is a job. After being blackballed from a career in marketing, Andrea agreed to use her unique profiling skills to play matchmaker out of pure desperation. But when she meets her highly eligible—and particular—first client face to face, she wonders what she’s gotten herself into…

Is She His Perfect Match?
Blake knows exactly the kind of woman he’s looking for—and it’s the total opposite of Andrea. Though smart and undeniably sexy, she is simply too headstrong for a man who’s used to being in charge. Still, Blake’s blood pressure rises whenever she’s near him. How can he explain the smoldering attraction that sizzles between them? And how can Andrea deny she’s feeling it, too? Maybe, just maybe, they’ve finally met their match…

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

You all know by now how much I love Hudson Pierce. Never a "book boyfriend" has ever changed his status for me, even after 300+ books I've read.
So when I learnt Laurelin Paige prepared a new book and even if it was co-written, I was game.

Andrea is a sparkling woman without a job. She lives with her sister but they both begin to struggle. After her sister convinced her to apply for a personal concierge post, Andrea finds herself in front of the most selfish and self-interested guy I've ever met: Blake Donovan.

This guy was probably the biggest jerk I've read about.
He's an handsome, very well educated man who built an empire from scratch.
He's very successful with woman but he never found the right one. After several poor experiences, he decides to hire someone to find his match. Because Blake Donovan is not looking for love, nor for a one-night stand, he's looking for a wife.

When I say he's a total jerk, it's because of the way he talks about women, like they are an object.
For him, marriage is considered as a business deal. He only needs someone who will be there for him after his work, wo can accompany him on social event, who will take care of his home,...

During most of my read I had a little angel and demon on my shoulders. For the most part I laugh a lot.
Blake's convictions are so ridiculous, it's funny but at time, it's too much.
Andrea was a comprehensive character. She is not afraid to tell what she thinks and she knows that what her job entails is practically impossible to achieve.

The interactions between both parties were quite good and I really enjoyed their time together. Andrea is challenging while Blake begins to see things differently.
My major and biggest problem was the lack of personal development for Blake. He seems to be this way for specific reasons that are never address.

If you are looking for something fun, not too complicated with a little steam in the mix, Miss Match will work for you ;)

Personal Concierge, to start ASAP (Boston Area)

I am a successful businessman looking for a wife. Due to a busy career and lack of energy or interest to devote to the process, I am seeking someone to assist me in my search. I am outsourcing the entire process, job to start immediately.

The perfect candidate will be assertive, with excellent computer skills and a knack for reading people. She—I am only seeking women to fill this position—will be expected to:

• Meet me, get to know me. Spend a week or so in my company to find out my interests, what makes me tick. During this time she will come to understand the type of woman I expect to fall in love with;

• Do all searching activities on my behalf including online, in real life, on social media, networking, and so on;

• Once possible matches are identified, provide me with pictures and, upon my approval, arrange dates for us to meet.

I am attractive and financially secure. I do not have trouble finding women who are interested in me. It is finding women that I deem interesting beyond the physical that is the challenge.

While this job can be done at home, I’d prefer that several hours a week be spent in my company in order to keep a firm handle on what I expect in a love interest. I will have private space available in both my home and office for the right person to work.

Income will be determined initially by the experiences the candidate brings to this project. Additional income will depend on the quality of women found to date me as well as how far the relationship(s) progresses—both emotionally and physically. We can discuss a specific payment schedule during the interview process.

Serious inquiries only.
