5 Wellsy & G STARS
I totally get all the five star ratings and raves about this book! I lost myself in this story, what an escape!! I lost track of time, reading it in one sitting and adored every minute of it.
This was my first Elle Kennedy book although I have a few of her other books on my Kindle. And I believe this is her first NA. I'm choosy with NA but when done right, it can be sooo good and this one definitely hit the mark!
This story is about Garrett Graham, Hockey God
and Big Man on Campus
and Hannah Wells, a vocal performance major with very little tolerance for Garrett.
I loved Hannah with her smart, sarcastic come backs and strength. And Garrett was so likable even with his arrogant cockiness because he was also honest and sweet.
"Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don't know how you ever lived without them."
There were no surprises or anything particularly 'wow' about this story but there was just something in the writing, in the characters that just made this a real gem! And the verbal sparring/foreplay between Garrett and Hannah was loads of fun and just as hot as the sex!
I hope Elle gives us more with stories for Garrett's friends? Just loved this!!
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I'm not going to write a big review for this being there are soooo many goodies out there already, that being said I'll just say a few thoughts. This is on the Goodreads nomination awards for a reason guys, this was all kinds of goooooood!!
We have one hell of a sweetheart with Garrett, he's sexy, funny, hard working (a bit of Manwhore in the beginning) but that is until he meets Hannah and needs her help. He needs a tutor to help him get the score he needs to continue on with playing hockey what he puts his heart and soul in. Hannah got the grade, yet he didn't nor did the rest of the class!! So he badgers her to be his tutor until she says yes, he asks again and again well you get the gist. When Hannah accepts they develop a friendship that gradually develops into something more and something special.
Goodness I loved both of these characters, Garrett is such a swoony man, he's strong, works hard, trains hard, is funny and sexy!!! Hannah is one kick ass strong lady who doesn't let anyone get in her way of her own plans either, and will also say it as it is, there is not many faults in either.
All in all this was an all round well developed college/sports NA romance but most definitely on the maturer side. Really the only time I got annoyed was with Garretts ASS of a father. And that was only because he didn't deserve a fantastic son that he should be proud off. But the plot added that extra part which made me at tender hooks at the end.
That. Is. All
