Review: Max by Sawyer Bennett

descriptionThe ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well let me tell you it was good to be back with the Cold Fury crew! I don't remember when I read Hawke but it felt like forever since I read about them all.

Max is probably the sweetest one. I enjoyed them all, Zack was my fav' but Max is a close second.
Max is not your usual manwhore hockey player. He likes to have fun, he enjoys the company of women but he doesn't avoid relationship like most men do. He's not specifically in search of his one and only but when he meets Julianne he knows quickly that she might bring him the care he needs.

"That Kiss""Yeah that kiss""Just the beginning"

Julianne is a young woman who support 3 children since her sister died of cancer. She is exhausted but she never complains. She knew she had to quit her lifestyle to give her nephews the best they could get. Life is not easy and she struggles a lot but she does it anyway.

It's no secret I read all Sawyer Bennett's books. If you didn't know already, just check my TBR and see for yourself. I'm wondering how and where this lady found the inspiration to give us every time so well put characters.

Max & Julianne were a great match, similar and yet different. They needed each other on their lives. Max brings peace in Julianne's life even if she keep being suborn on certain subjects. He brings out the best in her and helps her finding herself again after having her life shatter months ago.
Low on the drama and angst, Max was a perfect read for a calm Sunday afternoon. I was enthralled in their time together. I was with them 100 % of the way and when it ended I wanted more.

"Why are you such a good guy, Max""It's easy for the right girl""And how do you know I'm the right girl?""I don"t know it. I just feel it"

Now I'm curious about Roman because correct me if I'm wrong but who the hell is this guy?
