Review: Stay by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

descriptionCan you fall in love with someone you've never even met?

Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch—an anonymous virtual assistant service—is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.

Although it's against the rules for her to check his file, she's 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting... until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.

Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He's still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth—that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won't show her pretty face.

But it's nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can't fix. Hailey can't resist the offer. Matt can't resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn't have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy can never do wrong. I swear these two together are the perfect match. When it comes to writing about sport these two are pro. And while I don't know much about hockey, I'm fast becoming a fan thanks to this pair of authors.

In Stay, it's Matt Erikson's turn to find his HEA. After his divorce, Matt has only time for hockey and his girls, thanks to the Fetch service; he can keep his life and apartment afloat. Through some circumstances he gets to meet Hailey, the girl who co-own the society. The attraction is strong and an easy relation starts between them two.

Hailey was a refreshing character. You know how we all fantasize and have a crush on a certain man (it could be from sport or a singer or any man), Sarina & Elle decided to make all our dreams come true : The girl get the guys she's dreaming about.
Yes Hailey is a fan but she's no groupie. She was cute as hell when she was shy, not really knowing how to act around Matt. But it was as much because she didn't have a lot of experience as she was impressed by Matt's presence.

Stay was a delish slow-burn with lots of good laughs and emotions. I loved the part when we get to see the other WAGs and players. I missed Blake and I'm happy to see he takes a good place in this story! I'm also intrigued by O'Connor. His story promises to be interesting!
