Release Day Blitz + Review: Love, On Hold by Mia Miller

Now Live fb cover

descriptionWe both put love on hold until now. How long will love wait for us?

3:45 in the morning: unknown number calling.
Send the stranger on their way and go back to sleep, right? Except – his gruff voice made me think twice.
I was a small girl with big dreams. I juggled college, charity, and a job, while dodging an annoying ex. Getting to know a guy? That was way down on my list. So I had every intention of ignoring sexy Joel Thomas when he woke me up.
But he wouldn’t let me. When did texting and calling turn into feelings? We kept our identities a secret, and didn’t see each other. Yet, we fell in love.

Will our chemistry stand the test of reality?

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’m always anxious when I start reading a new book after an excellent one. I’m also nervous when I start a book by a new-to-me author but it’s worse when it’s an author’s first novel which is the case for Love, On Hold.
All the premise of the book seems fun and sweet. Falling in love via phone was a little surprising but I love a good challenge so why not. Joel and Leonie were indeed a lot of sweetness during the first 20% of the book. They get to know each other and we discovered whom they are and what their ambitions are. I wouldn’t mind a few more details or even a few more text/phone call between them. There was an easy going friendship settling that I enjoy to witness.

Unfortunately, this ended being just an ok read for me. My main problems were the ex drama that made absolutely no sense. Well technically, I could understand it but to me the guy was just playing dumb instead of telling right away what his real intension were which pissed me off a little. Then Leonie was a bit annoying keeping Joel at arms length for no real reason. Once again to me it lacked details. The book could have been longer because it has good base, good plot and great chemistry.
Will I read Mia’s books in the future? Probably, the writing was really good until I spotted things that didn’t work for me as a reader.
